On June 3rd, 2019, Sudan's government troops, including members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), opened fire on street protesters in what has become known as the Khartoum massacre. Dozens were reportedly killed and raped, and hundreds were injured. RSF commander General Mohamed Hamdan, also known as Hemedti, who is also the deputy head of the Transitional Military Council (TMC), claims to be investigating 'mistakes' made in connection with the alleged massacre.
