@frostflower55553 years ago Apparently it Prilep means "stuck" to the rocks referring to the the old fortress on the hilltop. The whole area used to be Ancient Pelagonia. Maybe the name comes from that. 5

@matthewbowles16302 years ago I was stationed in Prilep for 6 months during the Kosovo war in 1999 with the Royal Air Force, it really left a deep impression on me and would love to go back and revisit under better circumstances.

@Akcija19303 years ago Recommendation: You could visit Eastern Serbia. Some of the most interesting things you can check there is:
Lepenski Vir site - it is the first settlement in Europe, and possible the oldest civilization.
Rtanj mountain - it literally have the shape of pyramide. When "end of world" in 2012 supposed to happen, many people went there thinking mountain have supernatural power.
Golubac fortress - beautiful fortress, one of the most important medieval foundations in this part of Europe.
Viminacium - one of the major cities in Roman empire. It holds a distinction of having the largest number of graves discovered in any Roman archaeological site.
Felix Romuliana (Gamzigrad) - palace and residence of Roman emperor Galerius.
Iron Gates (Ðerdap canyon) - natural beauty with gorges and river.
Sokobanja - spa town, one of the most popular tourist resorts in Serbia. Serbian poet, Branislav Nušić, coined the rhyme "Sokobanja, Soko-grad, dođeš star, odeš mlad" ("Sokobanja, Soko town, you come old, you leave young").
    😀😁✌
