Parallel keys have a square or rectangular cross-section. Square keys are normally used for smaller shafts and rectangular faced keys are used for a shaft diameters over 6. 5in. So, while its true t then again, theres always the possibility that i could be mistaken. Im not an actual locksmith but ive worked under one for over a year now.
