Restuarant Style Dal Khichdi Recipe Ingredients for 2 serving Soak & dals for 30 minutes Rice (raw rice) – ½ cup Tour dal – 2 tbsp Chana dal – 2 tbsp Masoor dal – 2 tbsp To boil dals and rice for 3 whistles in a pressure cooker Ghee – 1 tbsp Cumin seed – 1 tsp Ginger slices – ½ inch Green chili – 1-2 piece Green peas – ½ cup Turmeric powder – ½ tsp Water – double amount of the rice & dal To tempering the dal khichdi Mustard oil – 2-3 tbsp Cumin seed – 1 tsp Bay leaf – 2 piece Green chili – 2 piece Ginger slice – 1 tsp Garlic (chopped) – 1 tbsp Onion slice – 1 large size Tomato – 1 medium size Salt to taste Turmeric powder – ½ tsp Coriander powder – 1 tbsp Garam masala powder – ½ tsp Sugar – 1 tsp Hing powder – ¼ tsp Water – 3-4 tbsp Coriander leaves – 2-3 tbsp 1. After soaking the dal and rice boil them in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles. 2. Now make the tempering and then pour the boiled rice and dal into it. 3. Add little water if required, then cook the khichdi for 5 minutes. 4. Switch off the gas and add some coriander leaves on top and mix it. 5. Serve it hot with ghee on top and your restaurant style dal khichdi is ready.
