In today's lesson we are going to learn how to describe New Year's resolutions using a variety of useful phrasal verbs (plus two bonus idioms!) First, listen to a description of the most common New Year's resolutions made by Canadians and try and find all the examples of phrasal verbs. Then we will talk about the phrasal verbs and their meanings including: Sleep in, Take up, Take on, Save up, Cut back on, Cut down on, Give up, Work out, and Slim down. We will also look at two idioms commonly used with New Year's resolutions: Eat out, and Go on a diet. Try using these 11 expressions and you'll sound more like a native speaker!
