Ultrasound Awareness Month
The TRUTH about ultrasound technologists / sonographers
What's up YouTube family!!! Welcome or welcome back to the channel friends! My name is Geselle and I am SO happy to have you here! I am a Disney loving sonographer who wants to spread PAWSitivity and ultrasound awareness! So thank you for supporting the channel, supporting my goals, and clicking on this video!
October is medical ultrasound awareness month!! There are different types of ultrasound technologists/ sonographers. There is a general tech, echo/cardiac tech, and vascular tech. OB techs usually fall under "general sonographers." In today's video, I talk about what ultrasound technologists really do. We do not just scan "babies" but we are most definitely known for scanning pregnant women when they are pregnant. We do more than just scan and take "pictures" as well. We are operating an ultrasound machine to take good quality images for the doctor so they can properly diagnose patients. You will most likely see a sonographer at least once in your lifetime. We scan every part of the body. We find abnormal situations inside of the body to ultimately detect, prevent, and help save lives. We are greatly used in the medical field to check for blood clots, fluid around the lungs, and gallbladder issues. If you're willing to learn or want to know more, definitely check out the entire video!! Where I share the many things sonographers have to do to get where they are today.
Today's advice: ultrasound is way more than what people think it is. It is challenging yet rewarding. If you are going into the field, it is definitely worth all of the hard work you're about to get yourself into. If you are a patient or someone who will most likely get an ultrasound exam done, thank your ultrasound technologist for what they do, it is a good but tough job, and I'm sure their shift was full of some kind of stressful moments. We are a huge part of the diagnosing process! We do our best to HELP you and most certainly do not want to hurt you!
If you happen to enjoy this video, I'd appreciate it if you liked it and subscribe to the channel for more fun adventures! I would love to have you join the SonoGes family. Every single one of you means SO much to me! As always, take care, be safe, stay PAWSitive, be KIND to one another, and we'll see you in the next one! XOXO, Ges.
