A young boy fighting brain cancer has been surprised by a parade thrown by his Wisconsin community to celebrate his fifth birthday after his Make a Wish trip to Disneyland was pushed back twice due to the coronavirus pandemic. Brody Thompson was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer when he was less than one years old – and his family was told there was a chance he would not live past the age of one. His mother, Kayla, said after surgery to remove the tumor, Brody had to relearn how to do almost everything – but could now sit, crawl and walk with a walker. Brody was taken for a ride around town by the Chippewa Country sheriff before fire trucks and family and friends paraded past his house to celebrate the milestone birthday.
