5 Ways to Style a Coffee Table

Design expert Farah Merhi from Inspire Me Home Décor show five easy ways to style your coffee table. This is one of the most common questions Farah gets asked on social media. Try one of these tricks, and you’ll rock the look flawlessly. Ok, option one is called tray chic. A tray is perfect because it corrals everything on table. The secret here is to choose a material that’s different than what your table is made out of. This mirrored tray will add dimension to this glass coffee table, but something like this gold leaf tray is perfect to contrast the glass top. This is a really easy DIY that Farah will show you how to make in another video. The second way to arrange your coffee table with a stylish stack. From art books to vintage perfume bottles, an organized array shows personality. A stack of inspirational books is clever, colorful, and eye-catching. Now, onto number three. This is what Farah calls haute height. Coffee table décor doesn’t have to be flat. Vary the height and scale of unique mementos with a mini statue, like this giraffe and this turtle trinket tray. Place the tallest item away from the edge and in the center of the table, then offset with another item around half its height. The fourth way to arrange your coffee table is called floral fresh. Farah loves to highlight natural elements, from succulents in a rattan tray to fresh flowers in a glass cloche. A small bouquet can be timeless and stunning. You don’t have to have a green thumb either—faux flowers can add a sense of freshness, too, and no one will be able to tell the difference. Lastly, the “less is more” approach is one of Farah’s favorites—its clean and tidy. Showcase just one item; such as a tray, or plant. If you think it looks cluttered, reshuffle the items until you like how the coffee table looks. Farah likes to update the look every few months to keep the room looking fresh. There you have it!
