جبل أحد والحب المتبادل بينه وبين الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم ويوجد في جبل أحد غارٌ لم يدخله النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فعن عبدالمطلب بن عبدالله أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم لم يدخل غار أحد الذي بالجبل، وذكر أن في جبل أحد قبر هارون عليه السلام حيث مرّ موسى وهارون عليهما السلام بأحد حاجين أو معتمرين، وهذا كلامٌ غير صحيح، يقول السمهودي فيه: «وهو بعيد حساً ومعنى، وليس ثم ما يصلح للحفر وإخراج التراب» وجبل أحد جبل صخري مرتفع طوله من الشرق إلى نهايته الغربية ما يقارب ستة أكيال ونصف، وعرضه في حدود أربعة أكيال خاصة من الجهة الجنوبية الشرقية إلى نهاية جهته الشمالية الشرقية. وإذا ما أتيت أحد من الشرق ترى قمماً متعددة ورؤوس جبال كثيرة، ويخيل إليك أنها سلسلة جبال، وإذا ما صعدت جبل أحد سترى أن القمم والرؤوس عبارة عن هضاب متعددة ومتصلة، ولون صخوره تميل إلى اللون الأحمر، وبعضها داكنة وهي لافتة للنظر لجمالها وتنوعها. ويوجد على قمة جبل أحد بعض المباني القديمة، وعندما تكون على إحدى القمم ترى المدينة المنورة أكثر وضوحاً من جميع جهاتها، وتملأ أقطار نفسك متعة برؤيتها.
