‘People who defamed Tablighi Jamaat now silent on Kumbh Mela’: Maha minster

Maharashtra Cabinet minister Aslam Shaikh slammed authorities for failing to enforce Covid-19 norms in Mahakumbh at Haridwar. Shaikh said that Maharashtra will bring in strict SOPs for upcoming festivals. “There will be strict SOPs for upcoming festivals. Otherwise, you can see how there is a rise in COVID-19 cases due to permission by a government for Haridwar Kumbh. They are the same people who defamed Tablighi Jamaat and accused them of spreading the disease,” said Shaikh. Amid rising Covid cases, lakhs of devotees gathered at Haridwar for Mahakumbh. On April 12, Sadhus participated in the 2nd 'Shahi Snan' of Mahakumbh at Har Ki Pauri Ghat. Kumbh Mela Inspector informed that Covid-19 norms were not possible with such a large crowd.
