Valletta Streets: Walk and talk Live Stream walking to South Street, Malta, new Light decorations In today's live stream on Saturday 24th July 2021 at 5pm Malta time (CET) I walk to South Street in Valletta, Malta to see the new light decorations. The street was originally named Strada Palazzo as the magisterial palace was going to be built there (at present it is in the location of Auberge de Castille). Later on, the name of the street became Strada dell'Albergia di Francia. The French renamed it too, as "Rue du Genie". Up to the beginning of World War II, the street was renamed Strada Mezzodi'. Nowadays it is called South Street (Triq Nofsinhar in Maltese). The beautiful new light installation by light artist Carl Caruana in South Street has been switched on for the first time yesterday. The video ends with some Maltese music and towards the beginning, I play some music by Spandau Ballet.
